My day

Ed bought me to Au Petit Salut. He had wanted to go back to Au Jardin, just like last year but we tot we wanted to try something different.

He choose the alfresco dinning which occupied the first floor of the three-storey building at Harding Road. Red brick wall at the back of the interior dining area, adorned its mascots from Holland Village; portraits of two French maidens. The dark wood finish and white walls combination of the interior exudes a sophisticated yet homely, warm ambience.

packed away

Was digging thru my stuff just now, trying to help a colleague to find a cd for her wedding.... came upon some old stuff that i packed away for a long time.  some things tat i packed away wanting to just forget it all... these are the things i never want to see but each time i happened to see them, i cant helped but relook at it.  just like the dvd, i will so tempted to play and have a look at it again.  haha... woman, some men will say, are jus so contradicting.

Not that i missed those days or i haven't gotten over it.  I think i did pretty well to be wat i am today.  I think it is just that it was a part of me that i can never just pull away.  i can packed or throw away those pics or disc but it was already a part of me... that explains mayb somehow i never bear to discard.  Bad memories they may be, but maybe i am just the sort to hold on to all the beautiful ones as well.

I am happy now, happy that i have done well and have managed to still find trust and be happy again.

My ambition

Lately I suddenly have an ambition. I want to be a receptionist!

Ofcos besides being the most qualified (in paper and in experience) receptionist ard, I would also be the best “screener” . I’m sure I will successfully screened away all calls from headhunters! Besides being the most POWER recep, I would also be a free lance trainer for other companies.

Topic:
The importance of a receptionist in your organization (Part 1)
Knowing who is calling (Part 2)
Screening the caller (Part 3)

Best of all, I can happily log-out at 5pm sharp and transfer all calls to the voice box!

Winning story

It’s again the time of the year to hear wedding bells coming up soon in the next few months...

Got a msg from a fre today announcing his wedding date. I asked him what was his winning story... his replied...

“...just that i think she is someone who can more or less accommodate my many flaws without getting too upset too often. it's a formula i tot should work well for me.”

Pretty well said. I think it is very true.

No one is perfect, there will never be a perfect someone, more importantly it is how you love the person you found. Actually wat he said may sound very simple but there is depth to it. It’s not easy actually to have someone to be able to accommodate each other and in a way compliment each other.

breakups

Found a lost friend 2 weeks back thru facebook... (amazing how friends sudden pop back up from non where....), anywaz i lost contact with RT when he got married and went back to msia for a while.  A long while I remb.... The shocking news came when he told he that he is now separated.  I was totally speechless.... not that it really surprises me anymore nowadays, but it is always those very stable couples (at least in people's eyes) that split.

Last week I heard 3 breakups. the other 2 were also quite surprised.  One resulting to annulment and the other thankfully not married, so less complication....

so sad....

Work day

The past 1 week was a bliss. As in able to leave work on time, spend some having dinner with ed at the right timing.
Note: my dinner (if any at all at times) timing has been so erratic. Most nites i worked passed 9pm, so it’s supper more likely than dinner.

I tell ed that I am enjoying my pass one week and soon it will end when my new assignment start.

One year @ Artery

Wow it has been a year since I first met ed at Artery with lao shi. How time flies... hahah... that was the blog I remb writing after that outing, and that the “friend” lao shi brought along was ed.
http://happybunnylaughter.blogspot.com/2007/05/my-teacher.html

Who knows that outing turns out to be more drinks session and some dinners over the next few weeks and months.... and it kind of still amazes me as to how it suddenly turned out that we could end up together! Haha. Not that he is not my type, but it was more of I never thought he had a thing for me, and he seems to like his singlehood so much that I never could have guessed that he will ever be attached. Well, maybe this is fate?

But overall I have to say that ed is such a dear....

The greatest man in my life

It had been a year since papa left to a more peaceful place.  4th april 2007.  I really hate that day till now and often i  felt that life is so unfair, having to take away something so precious in my life.  He taught and shown me what is real love...and that real love does exist, it is in the family.  he had also shown us that love is giving without asking anything in return.  The unconditional love that he showered to everyone and esp his wife and kids.

one year, and yet it seems like it was just yesterday.  the pain of losing someone so dear is still so fresh.  that day sis was packing and she came across a slip of email that i had written to pa abt my thesis when i was in UK and how he had helped me redraft certain parts of it, she kept it and gave it to me and said, "tot u might want to have this."  I took one look at it and that instance, every bit of my feelings for pa just came rushing back, tears filled my eyes instantly and i cried and i knew i couldn't read on.  i kept that piece of email without finishing it.  i knew i wasn't ready to face it.  I wasn't ready too today when i went to his tomb.  i told pa, my greatest regret is not telling him, how great a father he had been to us, how much i love him.   it wasn't his last few weeks that i said i love him.  but it wasn't enough.

Papa thank you for your guidance and love.  you're the greatest dad and i am so glad to be ur daughter.

Drunk

Ed came home drunk today after entertaining some taiwanese guest.  Lao shi called and told me to take care of him, but i couldn't cos i was still working in the office, and tat time was already 1130pm.  i was so pissed, cos i am already swamped and this is not something that i want to deal with at the moment.  I was also feeling sad that i couldn't take care of him and felt so helpless.

lucky that silly boy still managed to make it home and puke downstairs before making his way up.  (and i found out much later that he probably slept downstair for a while before making his way up).  thank god he was fine, otherwise i would have felt so guilty for not been there.

sigh wat a day it was.  by the time i got home, it was already 1 am +.  slept for few hrs and went for my early morning presentation at client's place.  i dont know how i managed to survived thru.  so glad it was finally over.  sigh... and more to come maybe.

ed is really the sweetest....  supporting me, ok... only the drunk part which i had "let off my stream" liao. haha....
