Nice sunday

I watched Harry Potter. The show was alrite, but becos of all the recent talks abt Transformer, HP sort of gotten mellowed out in a way. But it's different, it's still a must watch thing. It's a fantasy, that i felt I had grown along with all these years.

Well, the company was good :) i really enjoyed the movie. It was just sweet. Dinner company was good too, esp with Princess pinkie and mr designer. Nothing could go wrong. Like Princess pinkie had said, hope there is more to come. :)

Are we sucker for good looks?

This is often the question we debate abt. I often asked myself this ....

“Can I date a ugly man? a fat man? a balding man? a short man?”

Often we jokingly bitch abt how shallow a man can be (although there's somewhat a little truth in it :P ), going for a gal with a pretty face, big boobs, long silky hair, long legs... But then again, we all know most men are visual animals, which clearly also explains why comics are often read by guys. Cos most of them rather see the story rather than forming it in their mind.

Ok I should not generalize here... cos most of us are in some ways sucker for looks too... it's just a matter of how much we can compromised for.

I have been asking myself this as well... I guessed I am not really really particular abt looks, all I asked for is just pleasant looking. Clean clear complexion is impt to me; oily face is a major turn off. I can trade good looks for presentation any day. I am a sucker for how well the person can carry himself. The way he speaks has to be confident with a certain type of air. (I do not need PERFECT English or someone who talks like a lawyer). Intelligent communication is impt, and when I mean intelligent I do not necessary means academically smart.

so do I see myself dating a man not within my standards?? … If yes… but to wat acceptance level? Am I shallow too in some ways... ??

Just very different

Had a short meet up with an old school fre tat day....

I think there are instances that clearly shows how different 2 person can be. At the end of it, I was thinking to myself, non wonder back then even in sch we hardly talked in the lecture, cos we're really different. Actually before the meetup, I was also thinking to myself abt this, but I thought aftter so many years, we must have changed a lot too, and maybe the gap and the differences have narrowed....

ok I was so wrong... and I just hate to say this, cos princess pinkie will just gimme that "see i told u" LOOK.

I dun know how to say exactly how different we. Back then even in school, he's the very guai and studious type. Always attending lecture, taking notes, sitting somewat in the front 10 rows. and me... I'm always late, if not sleeping in class, even if awak I'm dreaming, talking... etc... and definitely in the last 3 rows.

As for now, the differences started when he sat down, so I just started chatting and the thing that surprises me is his reply to me is all chinese. (ofcos I was talking to him in english). The whole thing start to feel weird, the more we talked the more alien we are to each other ... I just acted normal, and tried turning to princess pinkie for help. obviously she isn’t very much of a big help, though I know she tried after a long long while.

After that meeting, he didn’t msg me too! hahahah... he must have felt we're world apart. Although that is the truth, I start to Q myself; Is my expectations way too high?

Just friday

It's Friday, the long waited day of the week. I have no plans, so decided to go drive some balls after work (hopefully not drive myself frustrated). The thing abt golf is you constantly fear you'll loss your swing once you stop for a while, even a short while.

Have made arrangement to go meet an old fre from my poly. Found each other in friendster.

Lately outings with mr dbs is getting super boring. He's such a whim, complains abt everything and it is getting on my nerves. I dun remb anyone who can complain non stop abt everything.

My favourite parts of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Remb the memorable

Remember the memorable, discard the unmemorable... "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind"

The movie title Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is actually a quotation from a popular poem by Alexander Pope Eloisa to Abelard. I watched this movie sometime back, and recently by chance I gotta see it again... this time watching it the 2nd time round... I appreciate the work beta...

here's a part of the peom...

"... ... How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd;
Labour and rest, that equal periods keep;
"Obedient slumbers that can wake and weep;
"Desires compos'd, affections ever ev'n,
Tears that delight, and sighs that waft to Heav'n.
Grace shines around her with serenest beams,
And whisp'ring angels prompt her golden dreams.
For her th' unfading rose of Eden blooms,
And wings of seraphs shed divine perfumes,
For her the Spouse prepares the bridal ring,
For her white virgins hymeneals sing,
To sounds of heav'nly harps she dies away,
And melts in visions of eternal day.

A belated b'day dinner

I had a lovely dinner with Edwin at Menotti. A very belated bday dinner for him. I suggested Menotti cos it was one of my fav rest in city hall... Confession, "I was thinking of my fav salad that's why". :P

I m really glad he likes the food. Phew. and dessert was at clark q "Nectarie". Again... another of my fav cake place. ok ok.....! now I am feeling a little bad, cos it's all my fav places... hehe... but then good things must share rite? hehe

Speaking of this bday date that I had.... the friendship with Ed was developed in an amazing way. Thanks to Friendster and the boo boo he made when he dropped me a message which was not quite sincere, cos it was more like a cut and paste message to the masses.... and I so happened to read the long message, amazed on how much a person can write to someone for the first time while at the same time catching a mistake which he wrote and I can instantly point out. hehe so I decided to be terrible and told him off. So that started the virtual friendship. And how strange he soon became my Mac guru cum helpdesk :P He certainly made my life easy and fuss free. :)

The most amazing thing is, we only met once and that was like half year ago... but it just doesn’t feel that way, no strange and uneasy feelings. I guessed that is becos he's always there in my "cyberspace"... So there is a sense of familiarity.

I am glad he enjoy the food and the place.

Living for the moment ?!

Do you believe in "just living for the moment?"

For one, I don't.
When I say "just living for the moment?" refers to just "enjoy the company" of each other, not in any serious commitment, nothing firm basically, no expectations just enjoy how things are at the moment...

I was throw a proposition yesterday abt this. To me it was a straight NO.
I dun believe in "just living for the moment and "enjoy the company" of each other, not thinking abt any future. Maybe I am a far sighted person, I dun like uncertainties less non exclusive r/s. I also realized I am not up for it or interested in any "games". Cos I cannot be in a "play" while I look for another all at the same time.
Has relationships evolved to be so complex these days that there are 101 methods? Isn't it the simple way anymore whereby: Boy like Girl and getting together to see if things work? .... No?!

See how things go

"I guess im just not ready. But we can just continue n see how things go.." quote un-quote

R all men freaks ?!

As the saying goes… if the men are over 35 and single, there’s something wrong. But wat abt us gals?

Well.... we’re just choosing.

Recently, I cant help but feel that some of these ple I met are weird. Moments they might seem ok and very nice, but it’s always some of the things that they say or do, suddenly freak me out…. I dun even know how to say it here!

Meanwhile wat I wanna do is to run away. They can go claim their temporary insanity, just count me out.

Life's a bet

I came across this in a friend's blog....

"wonder how many wrong ones do one have to meet in order to get to the right one? guess life's a bet.. u never try u never know..."

This was exactly wat I was telling my best friend yesterday. She is afraid of Falling in love becos of fearing of "falling out". I told her that there is a risk in every r/s. You never try you never know.

"3rd party" meeting...

Sitting by the busy walk-way of Clark q, sipping mint tea.... Supposed to be nice but without any great company of friends... the tea is just tea. Keeping watch from afar, making sure that things are in order (we're too old for any cat fights, so I'm not worried abt tat... haha). For 2 hrs, thing seems ordinary. It's like 2 business associate talking over coffee. Nothing too friendly or hostile. Just business like.

I was thinking, "is this it? Just causal business talks, hmmm.... ?" ofcos the main agenda has yet to be discussed....

I see the changed in attitude and body language, and suddenly both were smoking non stop. My take is, ok the serious discussion has started.

Another hr passed.... wat now? What more is there to talk? Seriously nothing said now will improve the situation.... whatever my fre say is not going to make her feel any better or less betrayed.... I was feeling hot and tired... and hungry. For once I was so glad when the pasty shop closed... meaning it's the end of talk!!! sigh... I hope both gals never have to meet and talk again....

Keeping quiet....

Silence does not always mean consent... ... There is a saying, "when you have nothing good to say, dun talk."

That is probably the best way to avoid any confrontation... I get it.

4hrs dinning @ Pontini

Had a fantastic dinner with Edmund and Lao shi. In fact one of the longest dinner I had in a long time. We were there from 8pm till 12midnite. All for a 6 course dinner.
Well fine dinning, good ambient and good food does comes with a price...
The 4hrs dinning experience cost $700. *faint* Edmund's treat to us...
Thanks to Ming... haha ... ...
I had a bet with Edmund last Fri, loser paid for dinner at any Italian rest. So we ended up at Pontini's. But I was shocked that he left the choice to the chief to whip up something for us! almost fainted with I heard that, cos knowing that fact, the bill for sure cost a bomb! Overall it was a fun nite with the guys.

A highlight of wat I ate that nite...

Thinly-sliced marinated salmon with arugula
*

Parma ham wrapped ard buffalo mozzarella cheese

*
Spaghetti with saffron truffle shavings and green asparagus (I just learnt that saffron truffle is one of the most delicious, sophisticated elements of traditional northern Italian cuisine, and very expensive as well. Heard a small truffle can cost a few thousands. Therefore mostly sold by grams.)

*

Tender lamb shank with saffron truffle mashed potatoes
*
Thinly-sliced braised pig trotter with pan fried Foie Gras and onion confit

*
Vanilla hazelnut parfait with seasonal fruits served on Martin glass of lychee sherbet with melons

Being single

I'm backed on tracked having a very busy social life. It's not very interesting or exciting, just simple busy with activities.

The funny thing is I am so used to this routine, that it starts to feel a little strange when someone requires more of my attention and time. For one mr dbs assumed that I will be spending today with him cos it's the eve of holiday. (beats me...). Anyway, I already made dinner and after dinner plans with friends.
Lately I realized I am so used to this single lifestyle ...??? or Maybe becos I have not met anyone that sweeps me off my feet to feel different.?? :D Speaking of which, it has been ages since anyone really sweep me off my feet...
Anyway, it's PH tomw. Plan is range then home with mummy.

It has been 13days.... I'm still waiting. Like I said, I hate waiting for anything.

Some self test ...(try it out yourself)

I got my Golf PC !!!

Went for my PC test today… overall I think I did alrite!
My 1st tee off was bad. But after 2 holes, I sort of relax a little. In fact was rather please with a few of my tee off! Think my 4 woods can go abt 130m? But my iron didn’t do so well… more practice needed.

We played taxes scrabble style, so I guessed tat made things a lot easier and faster. The caddy that I had was very good, in fact she amazes me how she can see where my ball is!
There was a particular shot that I was searching so hard for my ball together with Daniel and she can point from far directing me where it is! And it was like just 2 meters away embedded in the grass! Wow … haha. I think we must be blind. Her name is Rimi, will look for her the next time I’m there again.

The most memorable shot for the day: There was a par 3 with water. And wala, I managed to cross the water. The feeling is freaking good!

I have to work harder now so that I can take my handicap soon before my pc expires and before my passion wears off.
