Bali... Finally I made it to bali
Day 1: 6th Feb
Singapore to Bali Ubud
Off we go... early in the morning at 430 to the airport... It was my first time to bali, so you can sense how very excited I was. after all the transit and the 1hr30mins drive from bali airport, we finally reached Ubud Alila. I was very impressed with how nice everyone was. It was good to feel so welcome.
Alila Ubud is a tranquil and secluded hillside retreat that sits high up on the edge of the rich green Ayung River valley in Bali’s central foothills. Blending contemporary design and traditional Balinese architecture, the secluded courtyards, spacious terraces and private gardens create an intimate feeling.
We had the deluxe rooms on the ground floor. With individual garden terraces and a back courtyard with an open-air bathroom and shower. The open air bathroom is my fav part.... it's like can see cannot see kinda feel.
And yes... all rooms are equipped with Apple ipod. Just plug it in and play.
The highlight of the trip is dinning at Mozaic.
It offers both out-door and in-door seating, excellent service and attractive presentation of Chris' creative cuisine. The menu changes daily. You can either order a 3-course Gourmet Dinner and choose your favorites from the menu. We took the Chef's Tasting Menus. Each consists of 7courses and there are three choices: either the "Classic" Menu Degustation, a "Vegetarian" or "Experimental" version offering delicious surprises with every single course. i had the Classic while ed took the experimental with wine paring for each course....
This is probably the best you can find in Indonesia. (MOZAIC is one of only two restaurants in South East Asia to be recognized by "Grandes Tables du Monde" – the second is LE NORMANDIE on top of the old wing of Bangkok's legendary Mandarin Oriental Hotel – and has also received the "Award of Excellence" by Wine Spectator for its wine cellar.) Truly unforgettable!!
Day 2
Went BALI HANDARA KOSAIDO COUNTRY CLUB for golf. Set off 730 in the morning and after 100mins of drive and 150 horning later... we reached. yes since the road is all one way there, the driver horn each time he overtakes a motorist or any vehicle.... so I figured it might be more than that... haha
Day 3
Spa and off to Alila Mangiss
Finally we are sort of back to civilization. The room has tv!! hahah...
Day 4:
Fishing... my fist catch ever!!... and spend the rest of the day lazing in the bed and room....
Day 5 : home......
